Smother - Daya Winters
First of all - THANK YOU to Daya Winters & Iris Influencer Society for the privilege to read this ARC.
WOW! I am quite literally in awe! Smother grabbed me by the throat from page one and didn’t let go until the very last twist on the very last page. I read this entire story in a single day because I physically could not look away. I started with intentions to read a few chapters this morning, and ended by blocking out everything and everyone to read all day and suddenly I was at the end wondering what on earth just happened.
This book put me through every emotion imaginable. I was stressed, mad, upset, emotional, shook, spooked, and thrilled in the very best ways. The suspense is relentless, the tension is sharp, and the emotional highs and lows are so intense you feel them in your chest. I can’t even count the amount of times I said “WHAT?!?!” and “OMG” out loud throughout.
From the beginning, I needed to know everything, about everyone, and I needed to know it immediately. Daya Winters had me blaming every single character before I even knew if there was something to blame them for. I ended up highlighting over 100 parts with guesses, theories, and questions. Now that I’ve read the book, I went back to review my notes. MAN was I WRONG!! I’ve never been so pleased to be wrong!
This story pulls you in, chews you up, and spits you out wondering how you missed each clue. I never saw a single twist coming, and the surprises continue all the way to the final page. Smother left nothing to be desired, not a single thing. It’s gripping, emotional, twisty, and absolutely UNFORGETTABLE.
If you love thrillers that consume your entire day, hijack your emotions, and leave you desperate to experience them again for the first time, this is the one.
