Review: Woman Missing

Woman Missing Woman Missing by A.B. Whelan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claustrophobic, Twisty, & Emotionally Unsettling

This story felt like being dropped into a nightmare you can't wake up from; every shadow looks like a threat, every truth feels like a lie. You are met with a quiet, creeping dread, one that makes everything feel eerie and uncomfortable (in the good ways).

The appreciated how this book played with perception. You are continuously questioning what's real, who to trust, and if the narrator is revealing the truth, or hiding behind it. I simply couldn't put it down!

The pacing of the story was perfect; sharp at the right times, but never feeling rushed. Each chapter feels like a small trail leading you somewhere you shouldn't be, but you can't help to follow even though you know something terrible awaits. Her writing is raw and emotional leaving you with an unease that feels personal, and near.

Not to mention, we love a twist that reframes everything you thought you understood! Get ready to rethink every assumption you made along the way.

I'm genuinely grateful to have had the opportunity to read this incredible story! Huge thank you to A.B. Whelan for the ARC; this review is my honest, excited feedback

  1. Hey Jess! Hope you’re doing well.

I’ve just finished a psychological horror short story called The Black Cup (about 7,600 words), where a man awakens at the same impossible banquet after every killing, and three cups await him.

I’m putting together a small ARC team before launch.

If you enjoy morally complex characters, psychological tension, symbolic storytelling, and stories that leave you thinking long after the final page, I think this might be up your alley.

I thought of you because you seem to enjoy psychological stories. If you’re interested, I’d love to send you a free advance ePUB copy in exchange for an honest review before release. No pressure at all if it’s not your thing!
